Madison Crescent Hosts Fun and Free Summer
Musical Series for the Public

Saturday Nights Feature Rock, Swing and Family Fun at
Madison Crescent in Western Prince William

McLean, VA. [June 6, 2008]. Madison Crescent will host a series of free, fun-filled music events during June, July and August at Crescent Park in the center of the Madison Crescent community, a new “smart growth” village in Gainesville, Virginia.

The summer musical series will begin on Saturday, June 21st at 7:00 p.m. in Crescent Park with a performance by Rocknoceros (www.rocknoceros.com), an award-winning group that offers unique family-fun entertainment.

“We wanted to share the vibrant lifestyle that Madison Crescent offers with a wider audience,” said John D. Rhoad, Jr., Managing Principal for Madison Crescent’s developer, the RMJ Development Group. “We hope people will come out and enjoy Madison Crescent’s restaurants and shops and then make their way to Crescent Park in the evening for some wonderful summer entertainment under the stars.”

Madison Crescent is a mixed-use community which has been lauded by County leaders as an example of “smart growth.” A combination of shopping, dining, residential and commercial uses all situated around a spacious park creates a pedestrian-friendly, vibrant neighborhood that has become a tremendous asset to the surrounding area.

The summer musical series is as follows:

  • Saturday, June 21 – Rocknoceros. Rocknoceros (www.rocknoceros.com) is heard on XM Radio, has taken home two Best Children’s Recording Awards from the Washington Area Music Association and won the Best Children’s Performers Award.
  • Saturday, July 19 - Prince William Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble (www.pwso.org).
  • Saturday, August 2 - The Grandsons. The Grandsons (www.grandsons.com) will perform their unique blend of R&B, rockabilly, country, swing and vintage pop. The Grandsons have won numerous Washington Area Music Association “Wammie” Awards and performed to sold out performances at the Kennedy Center, The Barns of Wolf Trap, and numerous festivals throughout the country and overseas.

All performances will be held in the Crescent Park Pavilion at Madison Crescent beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will conclude no later than 8:30 p.m. Madison Crescent is located at the gateway to western Prince William County, Virginia at the intersection of James Madison Highway (Rt. 15) and Lee Highway (Rt. 29).

Madison Crescent’s Marketplace features a variety of retailers and restaurants including Harris Teeter; Chevy Chase Bank; Desiderio Italian Restaurant; Starbucks; MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery; AT&T Wireless; Subway; Brooklyn Brothers Restaurant; Hair Cuttery; Marketplace Dry Cleaners; Atlantic Billiards & Spas; Seasons Cards & Gifts; Avalon Nails; and Sleepy’s, The Mattress Professionals. The Marketplace at Madison Crescent is professionally managed by Community Realty Company, Inc. (CRC) of Greenbelt, Maryland.

Adjacent to the Marketplace is The Madison Crescent Professional Building, a 3-story Class A office building, featuring Citigroup/SmithBarney, SunTrust Mortgage, Prince William Family Medicine, Anytime Fitness, and SR Clarke, a corporate recruiting firm.

The residential component of Madison Crescent is being built by Miller & Smith (www.millerandsmith.com).
